Big, sudden changes are often made in reaction to something. Once that something is gone, so is the drive to maintain the change.

    Sure! And yeah – me too :)

    Same thing happens when a change is made through sheer force of will, while the rest of you (like your heart, for instance) isn’t on board with it. The change will only be maintained for as long as your will (attention span) holds out, then it will fall away and the rest of you will be glad.
