What Is Appreciative Inquiry?

Very inspiring! This is one of the things I’ve been learning about at ICA (International Coaching Academy), along with Positive Psychology. It’s basically leveraging the tool of looking for what’s right – in coaching, in business, in life – and enhancing it, instead of looking for what’s wrong and ‘fixing’ it. My new favorite idea :) This short video illustrates it well.

  1. ‘seeing the glass half full instead of viewing it as half empty’

    • Yes, tho even more so – actively looking for what’s half full about it, and letting that view expand to take in the color of the glass as its enjoyed, the air around it and its temperature, the temperature of the water. All the good things, really saturating yourself with the experience of what is great about it, in order to expand upon it and grow from there into the creation of a whole new experience that’s filled with all that is good and built upon that as a foundation, on purpose.
